* One quilt month 1
Posted on August 11th, 2008 by maitreya. Filed under Sewing/Fabric Crafts.
I’m doing a collaborative quilting project, One Quilt, where each month one person sends fabrics and maybe some guidelines for making a block, then we all send her our finished block.
I always psyche myself out over group projects and swaps and stuff because I feel like I really need to do something awesome and super creative, and then I get paralyzed when I don’t get any good ideas, stop doing any crafting for a month, and then end up sending it late after just deciding to do something simple. :/ Sorry tumbling blocks.
I do like how it turned out, though. I’ve never worked all diagonally before, and there’s a little bit of fussy-cutting at the top and bottom points.

I love your fussy cutting on the corners. :)
Well, I don’t think you’re the only one that psyches themselves out over swaps. The interesting thing is that once all the pressure is off (because you’re already late anyway …) you come up with a great, simple, yet still-awesome contribution.

I meant “interesting” as in “notice that something good comes out of this whole thing” not “interesting” as in “you should be studied by (other) scientists.” ;)

Hey M - I love the quilt square, especially the forest green. To be honest, swaps would make me nervous too - that’s why I don’t do them!! (isn’t that sad?).
I’m glad that even though you moved recently - you are still crafting away! I meant to tell you that I really liked the wallet idea…you were able to do that with a hot glue gun? wow.
