porcupine crewel
I saw this porcupine crewel kit that blempgorf got for 30 cents thrifting and fell in love. I commented asking if she'd like to swap, and amazingly enough, she was willing to part with it! I sent her a vintage bag kit I'd gotten at a church sale, among other things. I've been sick the last few days and it's been the perfect sick-on-the-couch craft. The pattern has a little flower top right (you can see it in the picture blempgorf posted), but I have left it off for now. I might go back and add it.

Kit is 2017 "Prickly Porcupine" from Paragon Needlecraft, designed by Barbara Sparre.

that looks great - perhaps even a little swapper's remorse on my part! I think the instinct to leave off the flower was the right move. I'll be sure to drop you a line when I tackle that bag kit.

ooo, i like.
you know, i'm still sick. i feel pretty fine, just have a drippy nose and a cough that just won't go away.
i also decided to rent breautiful katamari on xbox 360 and it was a lot of fun, though pretty much exactly like the old version. i think i might wait to see if it comes out on Wii before i buy it.

He is just wonderful ...... what amazing array of animals could be depicted like this ... surprised bunnies .... cats .... fluffy things ... maybe easter chicks?

I did a random google for "porcupine crewel" and this page popped up.
My mom did several crewel pieces in the 1970's and this is one that she did. Ours has the pink flower on it and it's framed in an oval frame that perfectly fits the design.
It just tickled me to see someone else doing it more than 30 years later.
