Martha's craft room
Take a look at Martha's craft room in this month's MSL, and on her website. It makes me want to paint a whole room Martha green. And drawers. I want a bunch of shallow drawers to store stuff. And matching little cubbies for papers and stuff. And a cutting table.

Though the article has what has to be the most disingenuous pull quote ever, regarding some custom napkins made on Martha's smancy embroidery machine, "My guests can't believe that I made them myself!" Martha, I would believe you built the whole damn house with you own two hands. C'mon!

Martha lost me a long time ago as a subscriber (after the very first year of publication) because of a direct mail piece that said something disingenuous about how everyone wanted to live like the First Lady. Actually, maybe it was genuine, maybe I just disagreed. There is no disputing, though, that she has propelled everyday craft to a very high level and I will always appreciate her for that. It's a love hate kind of thing.

I love her craft room, I thought it was very inspirational. My favorite part about they quotation you sited, is that they showed her super fancy enbroidery machine hooked up to the computer. Because really, the computer and the machine made them... which is maybe why no one can believe she did it herself. I found it a bit ironic.

Oh, sometimes I wish I was Martha. (Except for that prison bit)

That's exactly what I was thinking when I read it...of course they believed you!

Uh. I don't care what people think of Martha- she's still got it!

It's pretty, but way to neat for me. I've never seen anyone with a craft room that looks barely used. I like the airyness of it though and the color is beautiful.

sigh. Ah well, at least I have a spot to keep my sewing machine set up and store all my crap. It isn't Martha but it will do.
I love Martha, but have to say, the jury is still out on this new editor... this month's issue was kind of blah.

Funny, I read that Martha quote and thought it should read "my guests couldn't believe I made my staff make them!" Maybe it's the envy talking, I would love the space and time to have a room like that.
