finished felt sewing box
Here's the first one all put together. I started out thinking of it as just a desk organizer, but now I'm thinking it's almost a modern take on the sewing box. The fabric in the background is a thrift store pillowcase that I fused to the backs of the embroidered pieces to keep the thread ends safe. For the rest of the directions, you'll just have to wait for the book! Now on to the second one, which really is a desk organizer.

That box has to be one of the coolest crafted things I have ever seen!

Very cool and beautifully done. Lots of work in this project. Your embroidery is great! Don't worry about tiny, even stitches or being perfect.
Just have fun!

This box is so wonderful. The embroidery looks great and makes the box a warm, personal treasure. It's so easy to fill your home with pre-made, impersonal things, like plastic organizational boxes. This is a great alternative to that. I'm totally excited about the book.

Everyone has already said how beautiful and cool it is, so while I agree I am saying something else.
My mom still has those sheets, and when I started teaching, the Kindergarten class had it covering an open cabinet.
