matching wallet

Here's the wallet to match the bag I made the other day. I used this wallet tutorial on craftster. In it's first test run today, some of the cards fell out, so I think I'll have to add some sort of closure or something.

I tried to make a wallet recently also, and I have been using it but it's not sturdy enough. Too floppy and I am afraid things will fall out. Let us know if you come up with a solution!

The space for cards on the front might be too wide. I guess a few more stitches in the center should be able to secure your cards.:-)

I made a card purse a few months ago. It was too tight to get the cards out if there were more than 6 cards.

Maybe the part tha tholds your cards in needs to be taller? Or maybe your fabric isn't stiff enough...maybe a heavier fabric is needed.

I think some 'bought' wallets use a metal thing like a bobby pin as a spine up the middle of the wallet. It helps to stiffen it and give structure to the bills part. You might experiment with some type of plastic 'stay' going vertically in the middle of the bill section, about where you'd fold a bill in half. You'd have to put it inside the layers, though. Just a thought. I love the colors of your bag/wallet. Really nice fabric and colors!
