Small Things Designs

I've been brainstorming for ages about how to make something even remotely similar to the wonders at Small Things Designs. Her description mentions a saw, so I doubt this is in my realm of possibilities. I suppose it may be possible to use a punch on some of the softer craft metals they've got these days. I was thinking of raiding my stock of beach glass for the back layer. Hmmm. (Note: Looks like the deer design is only at Motel Gallery.)

She uses a jewelry saw, and cuts out the design. Then she builds as box and solders it all together. She puts in the piece of glass and then closes the edges of the box. The boxes don't have backs. She then solders on the tubing for the chain to go through.

Very pretty and unusual designs!

If you have never worked in silver before, I don't recommend trying it until you have experimented with some scrap silver. Also it might be doable with silver PMC clay.

Good luck
